Tethyr at its core is a playlist and display manager. Understanding playlists is essential to understanding Tethyr.
Playlists ( pList )

Playlists (abbreviated in Tethyr as pList) are a collection of playlist items (pItem) anything that is imported into TYR becomes a pItem and is handled the same way. Because of this it is easy to manage a wide range of supported content without much effort.
Playlist Items ( pItem )

Playlist Items (abbreviated in Tethyr as pItem) are the content in Tethyr. pItem have the original information (title, description, date published) from their platform as well as have additional data (tags and categories) applied to them.
Once a pItem is created in TYR it can then be sorted by this meta as well as have conditions applied to it such as dot and hide.
Playlist Groups
In Tethyr playlists are organized in Playlist Groups (pGroup). A user can have unlimited numbers of pGroups which make it possible to have broad interests and keep them siloed at the same time.
User and Master Versions
Each pList and pGroup that exists has one master version and individual user version for each user who is subscribed to it.
Even when you are the admin of a playlist you are not editing the master version of the pList. When you are the admin of a pList you can select “set as master” from the pList actions. At that point your user version will overwrite the master version and whoever has auto update on will get the updated master.
Practically this give you the ability as a publisher to both publish in real time and have a “scratch pList” to work in at the same time.
In this way you can erase, reorder, add content to your user version without disturbing the master version.
pList Passwords
When you create a pList you are the owner and an admin of it. You don’t need to enter the password to update the pList when you are the owner.
To share admin privileges of a pList you share the pList and share the password with the recipient. And the recipient can do all admin actions.
This provides a simple way to share admin privileges without the headache of email notifications and access requests. Later if you want to revoke admin access, just change the password.
